From the ground up Workshop

Joanne Bezzina

Saturday 23 November 2019

3.00 – 5.00pm

$160 if paid prior to 9 Nov

2 hours

Join Joanne Bezzina for this inspiring two-hour workshop focused on creating a balanced, well rounded Pilates session from the perspective of the feet.

As Pilates instructors, our role is to engage with our clients as a whole person. It can be challenging to maintain this approach when the client’s attention is drawn to one specific body part or goal. In this workshop, we will use our connection through the feet while working the body in all planes for a whole-body experience. You’ll look at the feet a whole new way!

The workshop is best suited to instructors working in the studio/rehab environment – and is good for 2 CEC’s upon completion.

Registration fee is $160 incl. GST if paid prior to 9 Nov. Post this date the fee equals $170.

Pay $430 prior to 9 November and you can attend all of the following sessions on both Sat 23 & Sun 24 Nov ’19 – you’ll save $50!

Please note that attending and successfully completing both workshops with Joanne Bezzina will result in 1.5 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points, as approved by REPs (Register of NZ Exercise Professionals).

Joanne Bezzina

This workshop is taught by Sydney-based Polestar Educator Joanne Bezzina.

Joanne discovered Pilates in 2000 following a love of movement and dance fostered since childhood. It wasn’t long until the Pilates method had her hooked! Pilates allowed Jo an opportunity to connect the body and mind in a way that fascinated her.

She discovered how the subtleties of Pilates could be applied to everyday living and allowed such freedom of movement. Jo didn’t hesitate when the opportunity to complete an apprenticeship in Pilates instruction presented itself in 2003. Through teaching Jo observed her clients transform physically and mentally as they were able to realise their movement goals.

After years of continuing education Jo was eager to further deepen her Pilates knowledge. She re-certified with Polestar Pilates in 2009 and hasn’t looked back.

Jo joined the mentor program in 2010 and is now an educator in the Mat and Studio series. Jo uses her love of storytelling and imagery along with her background in massage therapy to appeal to a range of learning styles. Jo’s involvement in teacher training invigorates and inspires her teaching in the studio and in mat classes. It has allowed a deepening in her understanding of the method that continues to surprise her.

Jo conducts workshops for students and recent graduates and is involved with in-house teacher development in studios around Sydney. She was winner of the global 2017 Pilates Anytime Instructor competition.
